General anxiety disorder
It always looked like that my cousin Sean worried a lot and was a worrier. He often felt uneasy and restless he couldn't relax. At times it would come and go just like that, in seconds. But then it would be there constantly, series of thoughts and emotions. His behaviors wouldn't stop for hours even for days. He would constantly worry and for minor things "would he like the gift","will people like the shirt i have on." For him it became difficult to let things go and move on and would easily be scared. Restlessness and sleepless nights was his usual things. There were times when he would wake up middle of the night sweating and trembling for no reason at all. He was an active person but would loose track of what he was doing. He would read and forget he was reading. At time he would feel light headed and his heart would start pound rapidly. Just hearing his hear beat fast would make him worry more. Sean would always imagine things worse than they really seem to be. He often missed school and work, and it seem there is nothing he can do he would worry more when he misses both. Doctors told him they cant find nothing wrong internally and say that its stress.
Schizophrenia
This story is of a a girl name Lisa. Lisa was born on February 19 1988. When she was growing up she took care and helped her grandmother who suffered schizophrenia whom later died. After the death of her grandmother she suffered anxiety. After a year it was getting worse. Lisa couldn't sleep, she would go weeks without sleeping. When she did sleep she said she would have nightmares about her grandmother dying. She would have panic attacks an now beginning to have hallucinations. Lisa would see people and things that only she could see. She would constantly hear whispering voices in her head and all around her. Lisa said that the first time she heard a voices that the voices would tell her nasty things. These voices had now developed into an imaginary character. She would say that this voice would make her miserable, annoyed and scared. One day Lisa was waiting for the bus when she started to cry hysterically and almost got hit by the bus because of not paying attention. Lisa would neglect herself, not bathe or keeping herself clean and no one knew why. Some say that she lost it due to the lost of her grandmother and that it was hereditary but no one know for sure. As to Lisa she couldn't take it all she committed suicide.
Muscle Dysmorphic
Every time Mark passed in front of a mirror he would flex his freakishly large muscles. " When I walk into a room full of people I want heads to turn and all the attention drawn to me!," Mark said. Indeed people noticed his 235 pound five foot ten inch body frame. But what people didn't know or see was the psychological and physical turmoil going inside him. Why was he so big ? but it was six years of steroid abuse and he struggled with muscle dysmorphia, which is the dissatisfaction, unrealistic expectation of body size. Mark lifted weights because as a child he was constantly being teased and picked on. He started weight lifting ordinary. He ate right and exercise daily and still hitting the gym. But Mark wanted more he wasn't satisfied, but what he was looking for wasn't sold in stores. So he had to turn to anabolic steroids, drugs derived from male testosterone. Mark's appearance was most important to him and constantly compared himself to others. He would say " Is that guy bigger than me?" He was never satisfied and Mark's steroid use escalated. He had started to take steroid orally but now he was bumped up to injecting steroids. The drugs took their toll on him. He began to loose his hair, acne was popping all over his body. I got worst he had chest pains this was when he slowed down and he began to develop breast. Now Mark has changed he is leading a clean life and now is healthy.

Questions for precious
- The factors that contributed to Precious having low self-esteem are the way her mom treated her, she was insulted, raped by her father and her mom always told her she was nothing and that will be dumb.
- precious had low self esteem because she was always embarrassed by her mother and didnt do anything. she allowed others to do her things and tell her things.
- Precious used to avoid dealing with pain by using defense mechanisms such as Intellectualization, she used to examine her feelings as if she was someone else. Examples are when she sees herself signing autographs for the people and dancing for a B.E.T. video. Also denial because she couldn’t face the truth. Examples are when the counselor wanted to know things about her and in the household and she would not say anything, also when the principal asked her if she was pregnant and she didn’t say anything. Precious also used Projection when she assigned her feelings to a boy who she says was her boyfriend and her school teacher.
- The neurotic needs that Precious over-use were Personal Admiration, when she thought of herself being well-known and dancing on videos. Also, the neurotic need for Affection & Approval, when Precious desires to be liked by others, example is when she is at the hospital and the nurse talks to her. She also wants to be liked and taken by her school male teacher
- precious raised her self esteem due to her teacher who always talked to her and counsel her. at the end she overcame her sad and emotional and dark moments.
- Precious at last showed that a higher self-esteem because then she would be with her children, she stopped insulting and she could talk to everyone.
- i learned from the movie to help the solution and not be part of the problem. and that even your close relatives like your mother can bring you down.
- i recommend this movie because its and eye opener.
neurotic need
there is 2 types of neurotic needs i over use. they are personal achievement and self sufficiency and independence. personal achievement is when some1 works hadr and hard to achieve highergoals, and fear of failure and also is never satisfied. i suffer this because when i play sports i never want to do mistakes and always want win the first place trophies. and second place in never enough its win first or nothing. also i try to do it in my presentations. i try hard and work hard to get the most points out of it. this is so because i once dressed the part of a female to get my full point, i went all out for this presentation. and in doing this for my sport and presentations i get aggressive and demanding qualities people tend to avoid. The other neurotic need is the self sufficienct and independence. I always try to do things for my own because i feel if i depend on others it may not work out the way i want. but this tend to push me away from friends.

Defense Mechanism
we have a lot of anxiety thus we have defense mechanisms that are set in place. I have two that i overuse time after time and they are Displacement and Projection. Displacement is taking frustration out on something else and projection is assigning feelings to others. My displacement come from things that i cant get done or get things that i want. It is quite annoying at times but i always do it. For example wen i want to eat something and my parents cook something entirely different i take out my anger out any thing and anybody. I have alot of anger inside much more than anyone should have but i hide it. I would go shoot or hunting to release it. I am not proud of my anger but i would love to think before i act. It will really help the situations i tend to get in. Due to the fact that i have displacement i project my feelings on to others. Its hard to control because of my anger. if i am angry the very next person that i see i will blame them for my anger. Because of this i tend to keep far from people. i will try to change them but its a difficult task. But i mist.

PEOPLE
People tend to put on faces for different occasions, why, i don't know. But I tend to do the same its a bit hypocritical but hey its life. Its a must, Its a necessity, and its a way of life. So we go about our lives changing faces or masks. We do it because w want to be loved, be accepted, be wanted even if it means not being who we are or what we feel like and it is sad! But we do wat we must do in order to get ahead in life.
