Muscle Dysmorphic
Every time Mark passed in front of a mirror he would flex his freakishly large muscles. " When I walk into a room full of people I want heads to turn and all the attention drawn to me!," Mark said. Indeed people noticed his 235 pound five foot ten inch body frame. But what people didn't know or see was the psychological and physical turmoil going inside him. Why was he so big ? but it was six years of steroid abuse and he struggled with muscle dysmorphia, which is the dissatisfaction, unrealistic expectation of body size. Mark lifted weights because as a child he was constantly being teased and picked on. He started weight lifting ordinary. He ate right and exercise daily and still hitting the gym. But Mark wanted more he wasn't satisfied, but what he was looking for wasn't sold in stores. So he had to turn to anabolic steroids, drugs derived from male testosterone. Mark's appearance was most important to him and constantly compared himself to others. He would say " Is that guy bigger than me?" He was never satisfied and Mark's steroid use escalated. He had started to take steroid orally but now he was bumped up to injecting steroids. The drugs took their toll on him. He began to loose his hair, acne was popping all over his body. I got worst he had chest pains this was when he slowed down and he began to develop breast. Now Mark has changed he is leading a clean life and now is healthy.
